President:
*Natalie Christensen

I am Natalie Christensen. I grew up in Roy and reside there now. I am a stay at home mom to five active boys. I enjoy scrap-booking, cooking, running, meeting new people and doing anything that involves my family. Before I married I received my Associates Degree from BYU Idaho in Sociology. I am a licensed nail technician, but with five children, I have taken a break from work. Two of my children attend Quest now and I will send one more in the Fall of 2011. I am so excited to serve the teachers and staff at Quest Academy. I believe in the mission of this school and have enjoyed helping the staff, faculty and students for the past two years. I enjoy being involved in many community activities and I have headed many committees. At Quest I have volunteered in the following: Box Top and Collection Chair person, Fundraising Committee Member, Running Club Leader, and this year I served as the Fundraising Committee Chair. As the PTO President I hope to be able to represent the parents in a positive way and together support our teachers and staff to enable our children to have the best education possible.

President Elect:
*Toni Christensen

My parents moved to Hill AFB when I was five and we have lived in Roy ever since. For four years now I have worked part time for Clearfield Justice Court. My Husband and I have three Children our oldest is in Mrs. Larsens 2nd grade with our next starting Kindergarten in 2012.
I enjoy biking, camping, hiking, the gym, reading, visiting national parks, the theater and playing Mario Cart. Other than Mario Cart, my favorite family activity is picking up Burger Bar and going to the park for dinner. I also enjoy Bunko with my friends once a month, and season tickets to Pioneer Theater Company.
We have been at Quest for two years now and I have had the opportunity to Chair all but the first Book Fair. When the school opened in 2008 the library was empty, as the shelves have filled I have taken great pride knowing I have helped to raise over $15,000.00 for books. As we start looking at our next school year I look forward to working with parents, administrators and teachers while watching our students grow into tomorrow leaders.
Thank You,
Toni Christensen

Secretary:
*Mindi Nielson

Hi! My name is Mindy Nielson. I would like to take a moment of your time and introduce myself and tell a little about me. I was raised in Tremonton, UT and currently reside in Clinton with my husband and 2 daughters. I am Stay-at-home Mom and enjoy every minute of it! Previously I worked for America First Credit Union in several different departments. I have attended Weber State and Utah State.

This year I have served on several POQA committees they include:
Student Celebrations where I am the Committee Chair over the Birthday Table.
Communications Committee where I decorate the POQA News Bulletin board and also sending info to the appropriate people to be added to the POQA Blog.
Teacher Appreciation Committee

I love volunteering and spending time with the wonderful kids at Quest! I have enjoyed working with amazing parents and hope to continue working with them as POQA Secretary this upcoming year

*Kelly Madson

Hi! I’m Kelly Madsen and I would like to run for the 2010-2011 Secretary position in the Parent Organization of Quest Academy.

I am a stay at home mother to two children and an Air Force wife! I was born in Texas, but was raised all over the United States while my father served in the Air Force for 20 years. My family and I have moved many, many times, and we feel very lucky to have found a place here in Utah that we absolutely love and consider home! Some of my hobbies include card making, gardening, reading, home decorating, and crafting in general.

Over the years, I have volunteered for many organizations in many different capacities. Now that I have school aged children, I’ve decided to focus my time and talents on things that will enrich their lives and be of the most benefit to them. I have been very involved at Quest Academy since it first opened its doors. During the 2008-2009 school year, I volunteered on the Fundraising Committee where I worked to help organize two successful carnivals and various other fundraisers. I enjoyed that so much that I decided to run for and was elected to the POQA Secretary position for the 2009-2010 school year. During this past year, it was my priviledge to oversee the Book Fair, Carpool, and Fundraising Committees. In addition to these responsibilities, I was a Room Mom for Ms. Blok's classroom.

This volunteer work has given me the opportunity to get to know a lot of the families at Quest Academy and has often renewed my determination to do even more for our school. I truly believe that it’s important for parents to support our teachers and to show them that we are vested in our children’s education. As a military wife, I am often touched when someone expresses their support for the sacrifices my husband makes in his job. Knowing how having that support feels, I try really hard to make sure that my children's teachers feel that same kind of support from me for the incredible job that they do.

If I am elected, I will work hard to build camaraderie not only within the school, but throughout our school community. And I will continue to contribute my time in the classroom because I know that kind of involvement enhances the educational experience of our students.

I am excited about all the possibilities that await our students next year! I truly feel that Quest offers our children unique opportunities that are not available in other schools. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know other parents through my involvement at the school and I would love to have the chance to work with each of you again next year.

Thank you for your consideration.
Kelly Madsen

*Mary Del Toro

My name is Mary Del Toro. I am running for the office of secretary for the parent organization at Quest Academy. I am married with 2 beautiful girls. I grew up in Montana and lived on both coasts and overseas. My youngest, Sierra attends Quest. We have been at the school since the beginning of this school year. We have enjoyed it immensely. I have chaired the volunteer committee this year and have been involved with the book fair committee. I am a Registered Nurse pursuing my BSN/MSN. My husband of 14 years is active duty Air Force and we are anticipating retiring here in the next couple of years. We love Utah and would like to live here permanently. I am very organized, a team player, and motivated. I have great leadership skills and enjoy being active in my daughters education. I would love to continue to be an active parent for Quest Academy by serving as secretary for the 2010-2011 school year.

*Anna Berry

Anna Berry was raised in Orillia, Ontario Canada. I have been active in PTO (PTA) since my children started school. I have served on many different committees, but this year I was the committee head for the Teacher Appreciation committee.
I believe in a strong relationship between teachers and parents and that learning doesn't happen just at home or at school, but the two go hand in hand. I enjoy volunteering at the school and would gladly accept a new and exciting challenge.
